How Are Hybrid Strains Different From Indica & Sativa Strains?

The Indica and Sativa classes of cannabis are not actually separate species. They’re just different varieties within one genetic makeup: the Cannabis sativa L plant species, which includes both an Indica variety as well as a Sativa incarnation.

So essentially, we can’t really attribute any psychoactive effects to either Indica or Sativa.

It’s actually something called the entourage effect which occurs with all weed strains when consumed into your body.

This is because cannabinoids like THC & CBD are only one part of this equation – terpenes and flavonoids work together as well.

Hybrid Weed Plant Characteristics

Many cannabis plants today can be categorized as either Indica or Sativa as opposed to “pure Indica” or “pure Sativa” because “landrace strains,” or original cannabis strains are super hard to find these days. 

Hybrid cannabis plants are a more modern cultivar than landrace strains.

Hybrid strains can be tall, bushy leaves have many unique qualities that make them evident these were bred for performance – or intense highs.

Hybrid strain cannabis plants can also be shorter and thinner, producing different effects depending on how they’re grown.

Hybrid strains are cultivars that have been bred from landrace strains in order to be more varied in their qualities.
